The beautiful capital – Muscat
Muscat is the capital of the Sultanate, sitting on the waterfront of the Gulf of Oman it has some simply stunning beaches, and luxurious hotels.
The city is split into three towns, Muscat or the walled city, housing the Sultans royal palace, and much of the government, plus a number of museums and galleries.
Mutrah the ancient port, home to the Sultans private yacht, and a large souq.
Ruwi, the business district of the capital, and also a place that you can literally buy anything.
Other major attractions include the Grand Mosque an exquisite building housing the worlds largest carpet.
The opulent Royal opera house, which has a packed schedule of international performing acts, and is also home to the worlds largest organ.
From Muscat, we can arrange scuba diving, fishing, dolphin watching, traditional dow trips and horse riding, to name but a few.
There are a large number of fine restaurants in the area, from tradition Omani and right across the international spectrum.
Mountain Biking – Canyon
No trip to Oman is complete without a trip to Jebel Shams, at 3000m, this is the highest Mountain in the gulf, and home to the Grand Canyon.
We have local guides who will take you on fantastic walks, all carefully graded depending on you ability. There is the stunning canyon edge walk, which ends at an abandoned village.
We also can take you on ancient trails that no other tour operator know about, including swimming in cool mountain pools.
For the adrenaline junkies, there is the awesome snake canyon trek, we work with Omani ex military, who place ropes at strategic points to make the journey safe, getting to snake canyon is an adrenalin rush in itself……
For the active amongst you we also organise mountain bike trips on the Jebel, all of these routes are graded like ski runs, so again there is something for every ability.
Go diving and visit the caves
The pristine waters that surround Oman, offer some of the most spectacular diving found anywhere. There are multiple wrecks to dive on, and the shear quantity of underwater life is enormous, because there is no commercial fishing in the Sultanate you will witness large shoals of many varieties of fish, plus turtles, conga eel and sharks.
There are many caves to visit, from Al Hoota cave which is home to a breed of blind fish, to Ras al Jins, or home of the Genies, through to the cave at the end of Wadi Shab, with a keyhole entrance into it, a challenge worth taking.
The Wahiba sands are another must do during your visit, we can offer you a truly immersive Bedouin experience, camel or horse safari’s are available, or you can enjoy some thrilling dune bashing in a 4X4.
Accomodation ranges from 5* camps, to camping out under the stars, we work with a local who actually lives in the Wahiba, and we can take you on routes that other tour operators will not.
